In A-CMC, advanced multifunctional carbon nanocomposite materials with a high strength-to-weight ratio will be studied for building, automobile, aerospace, and stealth space technologies. Special structures and properties can be incorporated into these materials to provide electronic, photonic, energy conversion/storage, electromagnetic shielding, sensing, and actuating functions for various specific applications.
